  • Hey!

Just signed up today (obviously) I was at the Photo Expo West today and happened to get a little flyer from one of the booths so I thought I would check it out! Seems like a pretty interesting site, besides I cant ALWAYS be on POTN .

Anyways, I'm Michael, I'm 18 and located in Garden Grove (Orange County area). I shoot cars, sports and I've been getting into portraits. My website is M-B-Photos--Michael Barry- powered by SmugMug (it's also in my signature)

    Here's what I shoot with:
    Bodies:
    Canon XTi
    Canon 40D

    Lenses:
    Canon 18-55 kit lens
    Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro
    Tamron 28-75 2.8
Canon 50 1.4 (just bought, hasnt gotten here yet)
    Canon 100-400L

    Accessories:
    Canon 580EX
RPS Studio mini-softbox (just got today at the show and love it so far!)
Dakin Mission Photo backpack (pretty big, big enough to fit my 100-400 with hood and body attatched along with the flash fully extended, the XTi and tamron 28-75

I think that's about it for the most part.

    Re: Hey!

Welcome to the forum! We do get people from out of town from time to time so don't let the "San Diego" title steer you away. How do you like that Tamron? I really like mine. Post up some shots.
Throw a little light. If it doesn't come back, it probably fell off...

Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 Lovin' it. I could glue it to my camera and be happy.
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 It's the older model w/o the AF motor and it focuses FAST. It's just like the 17-50, only longer.

        Re: Hey!

        Thanks for the welcomes

inSANe DIEGO- I will get some shots up soon (any shots in particular that you want to see? just from the tamron?) I love the Tamron, it's really trusty!

Nick Ruiz- Haha yeah he did! I left around 2:00 and he only had about 10 left. The LED's were awesome! I tried it out with a friend of mine that I went with, if I had another $100 on me I definitally would have gotten one! haha

          Re: Hey!

I checked it out but I feel the temp is a bit too cool. I did however stick one of my gels on it and the guy was like "good idea" I guess he never thought about it. I think I even sold 2 of those for him demoing it even with no voice. A friend told me that Delkin is in the works of releasing one that you can change the temperature!

            Re: Hey!

Haha that is a good idea you had, and that would be a smart move by Delkin! It's a neat little light for just $100, they would be smart to expand on the idea a bit.

                      Re: Hey!

Nice. Thanks for sharing. Is that the newer AF motor model or the older w/o the motor? I've got the older one and there is a marked difference in the focus speed (it's faster) between it and my AF motored 17-50.

I actually have no idea, to be honest I didn't even know the Tamron 28-75 2.8 had two versions lol
